Culture, Skills and Structure matter: practical tips on how to maximise your Fundraising programs
Course Overview
As budgets tighten and fundraising gets harder, the importance of having the right Culture, Skills, and Structure is critical. This session is for managers and team leaders who are looking to make improvements (big or small) in these three key areas that are fundamental to enabling fundraising success. This workshop will provide tips that can be practically applied.
Culture, Skills and Structure matter. They represent three key pillars enabling us to run successful fundraising programs. In this session, we will explore the theory behind getting it right in these important areas, identify practical tips on how to build a positive Fundraising Culture, review the primary Skills to look out for when recruiting key roles and understand the building blocks that need to be considered when evaluating Structure. Whether you’re looking to make incremental or substantial changes in your teams, this session will provide managers and people leaders with some practical tools and useful insights that can be applied in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, you will have:
- Practical tips to improve your Culture
- Practical tips to improve Skills and talent acquisition
- An understanding of the building blocks and options to be considered when reviewing team Structure
Participants will complete a Fundraising Success Survey ahead of the workshop, with the results to be utilised as a stimulus for the group.
Another stimulus will include research insights from Australia and overseas, the Fundraising Skills framework (based on the widely utilised SFIIA Skills framework), and synthesised, deidentified models and insights from a wide client base.
